About the Artist
Professor He has been awarded the title of "Chinese Folk Arts and Crafts Artist" by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and China Folk Artists Association. She retired recently from the South-Central University for Nationalities in Wuhan, China.
Prof. He has lectured at institutes include the Library of Congress, China Institute, Museum of Art and Design, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University, College of William and Mary, University of Maryland, etc. She has also been invited to Norway, Japan and South Korea for cultural exchange program. Prof. He has published three books and over fifty journal articles.
Prof. He's paper-cuttings has been collected by China Ethnic Culture Palace Museum, Nanjing Museum, Hubei Provincial Museum, Taiwan Folk Arts Foundation, Taiwan Shih Ho-Cheng Folk Cultural Foundation, Waseda University Library in Japan, Folk Life Center at the Library of Congress, Freer and Sackler Galleries of Smithsonian Institution, etc.
